SAVE the next CAFE EDISON from Vanishing from New York
push for passage of Intro 402 - the Commercial Rent Control law
currently in committee in the New York City Council
Whether or not you can make it to the 'eat-in' / Lunch Mob for Cafe Edison, contact your city council members, the mayor and public advocate's office to let them know you want them to pass Commercial Rent Control laws, to mitigate the further Vanishing of New York's profitable, long-time small businesses like the Cafe Edison and so many other wonderful places we lament the loss of.
There is currently a bill proposed, and in committee, in the city council that needs our support to move forward. There have been several proposed over the past decade but they never got out of committee because they were killed by Quinn, Doomberg and the Real Estate lobby. We can overcome these failures by letting the city council know we support the current bill - Intro 402 - sponsored by Annabel Palma, Rosie Mendez, Ydanis Rodriguez, Margaret Chin, Vincent Gentile, Deborah Rose, Karen Koslowitz, Letitia James, and Gale Brewer. You can see it on the council website or at savenycjobs.org/sbjsa-bill
Don't just show up tomorrow, get in touch with your city council member and spread the word by letting them know about the Lunch Mob and your support for legislation to Stop the Vanishing of New York. This Can Be Done. See you tomorrow.
If you would like to meet for another Lunch Mob, contact me, or Jeremiah Moss via Vanishing New York
